This is my first post ever on my blog. It's been awhile since I joined this community but don't even have a chance to write anything down on my own vox. Here I am.....
Last Monday it was raining here where I live so I decided to drive up somewhere north. I wanted to get away from the city then idea came up in a minute and it was Stowe Vermont. Roughly 202 miles of driving!!! It hasn't been any serious snow here for this winter and I shall called this trip " Quest For Snow "
I filled up my LJ tank and off we go...
Normally it will take me around 2 and 1/2 hour of driving in this kind of a distance but it wasn't a good idea driving there especially on that day. Of course I did weather report check up in Stowe, VT but I didn't check the weather in New Hampshire where I have to drive through Vermont. I was wrong.... Driving condition was terrible..... There were minor accidents along the way.... The good thing was...They're slow me down... That's right it took me 4 hrs driving instead of 2.30 hrs. They have road signs that very interesting me... I drove passed Deer Crossing...then Moose Crossing.....and then Bear Crossing..... I kept thinking "is this for real?" I saw deers and moose when I made a trip to Maine. But never ever seen bear crossing before. I am pretty sure that they have Bear Crossing sign also somewhere in The United States. So that was my first time seeing Bear Crossing sign and I'm still wondering how come they never made any squirrel crossing??? They've been killed a lot during their making season. They're jumping around making cross on the highway like crazy and it could cost you a major or minor accident as well. That was my thought and correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I have reached Stowe around noon time. I was heading to The Von Trapp Family Lodge.. That was it. My destination.. The Austrian Tea Room for lunch. The picture was taken from the out side of the restaurant. I had lunch there and thinking of how am I gonna survive from driving another 4 hrs back to my home town. My lunch was Tomato cream soup and beef stroganoff with pasta. They're both special of the day. It was pretty good. After meal I went to check out some ski&snowboard lifting and then heading back home. I couldn't believe the time flied very fast. I left Stowe,VT around 3 PM and the dark almost set in. For some reason as far as I'm concerned we have a very mild winter here. We should have had ton of snow by now but this year is not a good year for ski resort on the east coast. It's the global warming... I guess....
This was a quite experience for me driving in snow and freezing rain condition and it was my LJ first time in a tough call road condition where wasn't in you neck of the wood. I have learned so many things from this trip... Be patient.. ...Enjoy the moment you have....Be prepared for whatever will happen...Take it easy and Don't Panic...Always filled up your tank and have some good musics all the way... "Quest For Snow...Mission Accomplished"
